Benefits of Magnesium

Dark chocolate is one food that is rich in magnesium

Magnesium is a supplement that I recommend to a lot of my patients for maintaining optimal health. Why? Because its an essential mineral that plays an important role in over 300 biochemical reactions in the body. In a way, it benefits everything. Magnesium supports muscle and nerve function. It helps regulate muscle contractions and nerve signals— which can prevent cramps, spasms, and chronic pain conditions. Magnesium is involved in energy production, aiding in the conversion of food into energy and helping to reduce fatigue and increase overall vitality. This mineral also supports cardiovascular health by regulating blood pressure and promoting healthy blood vessels.

Magnesium also impacts mental health and cognitive function. It plays an important role in regulating neurotransmitters and helping to alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression. Magnesium has a calming effect on the nervous system, which can improve sleep quality and reduce insomnia. In addition, magnesium is associated with improved cognitive abilities, including memory and learning.

Magnesium Deficiency

Magnesium deficiency is common and can cause disharmony in the body. Eating processed food leads to a handful of imbalances, including this! In addition to dietary choices, Modern agricultural practices deplete the soil of the essential mineral leading— yes, even whole foods— to contain lower levels than they did in the past. Stress is another significant factor, as it causes the body to deplete its magnesium stores more rapidly. Certain medications, like diuretics and antibiotics, can also lead to magnesium loss. In addition, conditions like gastrointestinal disorders, which impair nutrient absorption, can contribute to deficiency. Together, these factors result in many people not getting enough magnesium to meet their body's needs, leading to a range of health issues.

Ways to Increase Magnesium Intake

The good news is, there are lots of effective ways to take magnesium and get your body replenished and feeling better! Dietary sources are a great way to balance your magnesium levels. Eat more magnesium-rich foods like leafy green vegetables, nuts, seeds, whole grains, and legumes. If you find it challenging to get enough magnesium through diet alone, supplements are also great. I eat a balanced diet and still feel better taking a magnesium supplement. You can find them in various forms, including magnesium citrate and magnesium glycinate. Each form has a different absorption rate and uses. Another popular method is using transdermal magnesium products like our magnesium oil, which is sprayed directly to the skin for absorption. Epsom salt baths, one of my favorite ways to absorb magnesium, contain magnesium sulfate and are extremely relaxing and soothing to joints and muscles. By incorporating a combination of these methods, people can effectively boost their magnesium intake and support overall health.

Magnesium Oil Spray

Ok, time to talk about our product! We make a sell a topical magnesium that is combined with frankincense and lavender essential oils. It is applied through the skin, and is efficiently absorbed, bypassing the digestive system and delivering rapid benefits directly to the muscles and bloodstream. This transdermal application helps alleviate insomnia, stress, muscle cramps, joint pain, and tension. The addition of frankincense essential oil enhances the anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties of magnesium, further reducing pain and swelling. Lavender essential oil adds a soothing and calming effect, reducing stress and anxiety, and promoting better sleep quality. Together, these ingredients create a synergistic blend that supports both physical and mental well-being. We love our magnesium oil and we know that our patients do too. Last month we sold out of it within weeks! Don’t worry though, we are restocked and ready for you.
